The Art of Spiritual Direction

Soul Companioning

Spiritual Direction is a practice of listening, with a companion, for the inner voice and movement of the Spirit in your body.  A Spiritual Companion is not focused on solving problems or giving advice, but helps you to become more aware of your inner voice and the underlying feelings surrounding your life experiences.  When we begin to identify and understand the aspects of “The Ego,” often referred to as “The Shadow,” we begin to understand these hidden parts of ourselves. This awareness allows us to work with the feelings that are buried underneath layers of emotions that we compartmentalize in areas of our bodies as well as our minds.

Spiritual Direction is a dynamic process that can be done with both the individual as well as small group settings. Cynthia has been working with individuals and groups since graduating (2016) from a three year Spiritual Direction Program.  Cynthia is skilled at building connections with others through empathetic listening, identifying the feelings and emotions which guides people towards their own inner truths and understandings.

"Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart.  Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside awakes."

Carl Jung (1973). "Letters"

Discover the art of soul collage as a means of self-expression and personal exploration. Listening to your intuitive guidance, you will select images that draw you inward to engage in a transformative process of creating collages to reflect and connect with your inner wisdom and intuition.

During our time together, we will learn how to select and create your cards that will speak to your Soul through the images.  Using specific journaling questions, the cards begin to speak to you in a personal way that touches your inner child and creates a heart space opening and inner dialogue.  This ultimately will lead you into a new way of self expression and discovery through the process of creating your own deck of cards that can be used in a variety of ways to augment your own spiritual practice.

This on-going group class teaches you the fundamentals principles of Soul Collage, a concept developed by Dr. Jean Houston in the 1980’s (Soul Collage Evolving, 2010, Seena Frost).
